Here is a great shot to show why floating our anchor chain is so important. Soo beautiful and each of these bombies (aka balls of reef) are a perfect little ecosystem we do not want to disrupt.

In an effort to protect the coral reefs throughout the Tuamotus cruisers float their anchor chain.

A bit of a learning curve but man it sure works great and keeps our chain from getting fouled/wrapped around coral and minimizes our impact on this beautiful part of the world.

In our post passage fog our brains are fogged, our bodies are fatigued, we’re blissfully happy and our to do list is large:

After some sleepless nights and blowy days everything calmed and the water became crystal clear once again.

The motus are a very special place, extremely remote, rugged and mostly exposed to wild weather. You need to be ready for it all but when it’s calm it feels like you’re in the middle of a postcard.
